Education Sponsorship
Education plays a key role in the transformation and empowerment of the children and youth that we work with. The key educational elements such as attitude formation, knowledge development, and skills go a long way to augment our efforts to rehabilitate, heal, transform, and empower. As a result of our understanding of the critical SDG No4, we have programmed to tailor our support to children’s education through the following levels:
Bridge education program
This one-year program focuses on children who have never enrolled in school, school dropouts and therefore have huge learning gaps and losses. The program also pays attention to the attitude and character development of the children before they are enrolled in mainstream education centres. We deem this socialization to be significant to stimulate the enthusiasm of the children to learn and also enable them to develop some basic interaction skills. The children are taken through basic numeracy and literacy skills and multiple healing sessions, reflection, music, and cultural education.
Primary
Most of our children are of school-going age, they qualify for the foundational level of learning which in Uganda, the Primary level is among. This is a 7-year learning cycle that sets the children on a strong path of lifelong learning. We believe that the children who are allowed to go through the primary cycle book themselves in a better position for sustainable education and a catalyst for other great levels of learning.
Vocational
Vocational learning is one of the key platforms that is giving us quick impact and results in the transformational journey of our children. Not all children have the competencies to continue with academic pursuits because of their different abilities. Additionally, the majority of our children are too old for the classes they are enrolled in. Due to their history of learning loss, they always struggle to catch up with the rest of the children who are in normal growth. We hope that we channel as many children as possible into hands-on training for the acquisition of employable skills, and entrepreneurship for self-sustainability.
Secondary
Our children are always qualifying for secondary education. We are always inspired by their hard work, commitment, and focus regardless of their background. They continue to prove that all children deserve an opportunity indiscriminately to access quality education to expand their chances for the local and international competition for the available advanced learning pathways and employment when they are through school. We are also aware of the fact that the secondary level of education is the basis for specialized education and our children need to be given study opportunities to complete the cycle.
Tertiary
This is another essential level of learning for our children, it is similar to the vocational colleges children who are channeled to this level of education cycle have quick returns and higher chances of employability. We hope that if some of our children access tertiary education in health courses, plumbing, agricultural engineering, electronics, and mechanics to mention a few, they will easily transit to self-sustenance for total empowerment.
University
This is a highly competitive level of education we can afford to give to our children. Children who qualify for university sponsorship demonstrate a high level of discipline, higher academic achievements in their past levels of learning, admirable character, values, and purpose. They are youths who have fully chosen to heal, adjust, and adapt to higher expectations of learning, support and sponsorship for them to be funded for a university degree.
